What I think of the movie, Do the Right Thing (so far)

 So, now that we have watched the majority of the movie, Do the Right Thing, it is time to develop an

 opinion on it, first of all.  I'd like to start off by saying that I have so far enjoyed watching this movie. 

throughout the entire film, its so interesting how it is shown through the perspective of a Brooklyn 

resident on one specific block in the city, during the summer. Just how everybody knows each other

 and the reputations each person owns, individually.  Not to mention, I am a big fan of the

 architecture of the brownstones, so I immensely appreciate the authenticity of the movie's multiple 

scenes, primarily taking place somewhere outside on the block, where this type of infrastructure 

and/or architecture/housing is shown.

In terms of the plot and similarity to the scripted version we read as a class, I would have to say that I 

believe they are both relatively the same to each other.  As I was watching the movie, I would come

 across parts of it where I would start thinking, "oh yeah, I remember this part and reading it in the 

script for homework", thus showing me, personally the authenticity of the movie;  Despite the fact 

that it was already pointed out that not everything/every part of the movie is 100 percent the same as

 in the script. The scenes include the same exact characters, who say the same exact things, as well, in 

comparison (once again) to the scripted reading of the movie.

The last bit that we, as a class are still waiting to see are the ending scenes, involving the death of 

Radio Raheem and the pizzeria going up in flames, if the movie fully corresponds with the scripted 

version.

Does the script provide a right thing to do?

After finally reading the entire script, I feel that there really wasn't a solid "right thing to do", in regards to the overall script plot.  Of course, there were various major and minor characters doing the "right thing", but there wasn't a single and main "right thing" to do.  The right thing to do would be to have made a compromise between Sal and the rest of the neighborhood, to include other hall of famers that weren't necessarily Italian American.  The right thing to do should have also been giving respect to all and trying to understand everyone's perspectives.
